General
Description: The Summer Camp Leader is responsible for
planning, leading, and implementing core and non-core programs
and experiences for children in a group setting. They
will also be responsible for the general safety and
development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants
in the camp. The incumbent will provide high quality
indoor and outdoor educational and recreational experiences
for participants that focus on the YMCA core values of caring,
honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. This position
will work with and not be limited to Preschool Camp, Adventure
Camp, Summer Day Camp, Enrichment Camps and Power Camps. |

Responsibilities:
Write and implement a weekly schedule for your
camp group.
Plan, organize and lead a variety of age appropriate small and
large group activities. Activities may include crafts,
nature, songs, games, opening and closing ceremonies, canoeing
etc. This includes bus rides.
Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of
litter.
Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and
report concerns to Camp Leadership.
Assist in
maintaining accurate program records including incident reports,
logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
Know and
understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp
program.
Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines associated with
the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not
limited to being responsible for your campers’ safety and
their whereabouts at all times.

Description: The Day Camp Counselor is responsible for

and experiences for children in a small group setting.
They will also be responsible for the general safety and
development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants
in his/her group. The incumbent will provide high
quality outdoor educational and recreational experiences for
participants that focus on the YMCA core values of caring,
honesty, respect and responsibility. |

closing ceremonies, swimming, archery, etc. This includes
time spent on the bus.

Description: This position works directly with children
ages 6 weeks to 6 years old and is responsible for the safety
and supervision of children at all times. This candidate
should be energetic and have a positive attitude, looking for
the best in themselves and in the people around them. They
must be able to interact with parents, and represent the Adair
County Family YMCA in a positive and professional manner. |

Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, nurturing environment for the children ages 6
weeks to 6 years old in the child watch program.
Effectively deliver the mission of the Y and use positive
behavior management techniques.
Duties
include but are not limited to puppet shows, child
supervision/direction, group games, and indoor play.
Working indoor with children.
Entertaining and engaging with children.
Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of
clutter.
Assist in
maintaining accurate program records including incident reports,
logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
Know and
understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the child
watch program.
Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with
the child watch and all program areas. This includes but is
not limited to being responsible for the children’s safety and
their whereabouts at all times.
Perform other
duties as needed for the successful operation of the Child Watch
Program.
