Adair County Family YMCA

Hi Everyone!

At the time of writing this letter we are experiencing the first snowfall of the year ... in early NOVEMBER! But the bad weather doesn't mean your physical fitness and mental well being have to suffer. Here at the Y we pride ourselves on having something for everyone regardless of age, fitness level or ability. We have a variety of fitness classes including, Chair Yoga, KettleWorX, Step Interval, Cardio Kickbox and Dance Fitness. We also have a variety of Youth and Adult Sports including Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball and T-Ball. If you are looking to try something new, why not try the fastest growing sport in the USA, Pickleball.

Pickleball is a sport that shares some similarities to tennis with the court size of badminton. Players often take part as doubles and the objective is to hit a whiffle ball over the net using a paddle without the ball hitting the ground twice. The smaller court dimensions and gameplay make it a great fit for all ages. Pickleball is played Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and all equipment is available at the YMCA!

The Y is so much more than a building. We are much more than a Gym. We are a mission driven movement focusing on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. The Y is made of many volunteers, members and participants involved in so many different ways. Be sure to find us on Facebook and at, and send us your Y story. We are the Adair County Family YMCA, you belong here and it is my hope that you feel welcome here, each and every time you are involved with the Y. As the season picks up and the fall turns into winter, I hope you are able to let go of some of your worries and see the surrounding beauty of our community, your friends and most importantly your family. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and many wishes for a healthy and Happy New Year.
